Which Cotes Desalter should I use?
The Cotes Desalter protects coastal and offshore assets by removing moisture and airborne salt while creating a dry-air overpressure barrier that helps prevent corrosion and extends equipment lifetime.
The Cotes Desalter range is available in three sizes, allowing the solution to be matched to the airflow requirements and volume of the structure being protected. All three models use the same desalting principle—combining adsorption drying, salt reduction, filtration, and dry-air overpressure—but differ in capacity and airflow performance.
CD26
The CD26 is the most compact model in the range and is designed for smaller coastal and offshore installations where space is limited. It provides reliable dry-air overpressure protection while maintaining a compact footprint.

CD35
The CD35 offers increased airflow and filtration capacity, making it suitable for medium-sized structures and applications that require higher air exchange rates and greater protection against salt ingress.

CD65
The CD65 is the largest model in the Desalter range. Designed for large offshore structures and marine installations, it delivers high-capacity airflow and robust long-term protection in harsh coastal environments where corrosion prevention is critical.

How do I determine the right size?
Selecting the correct Desalter depends on several factors, including:
- Internal volume of the structure
- Required overpressure level
- Air leakage rate
- Number of doors, hatches, and cable penetrations
- Environmental conditions at the installation site
Cotes can assist in determining the required airflow and selecting the appropriate Desalter model for each application.
